Puteri Santubong, Puteri Sejinjang..

Salam Alaik.

Puteri Santubong, Puteri Sejinjang,
 Penjaga gunung Negeri Sarawak,
Manis sik ada dapat dilawan,
Anak dak Dewa turun kayangan.

This entry has nothing to do with  puteri santubong legend. Its about the mountain babe! Back then, my coursemate posted on fb about Hiking to Santubong. The fees rm 20++ something like that which is soo cheap. Giler tak nak pergi! I registered my name immediately after reading the ads.Homaigawd, I've been waiting for this opportunity since last semester, at last dapat jugak. Alhamdulillah.

The height of this mountain is not that high ( I can't recall the exact height) but yeah, the route is very challenging. Its very steep you know (for me la)! But sayang seribu kali sayang our team could not make to the top because it was already late. A bit disappointing there but at the same time a bit happy because boleh pergi waterfall. I just loveeee waterfall!! The guide said that the hiking took more or less 3 hours tu pon kalau jarang2 berhenti. But we all around 30++, we stopped so many times sebab kesiankan kawan2 yang mengah. Apa nak buat, we reach half way of the mountain aje lah. Luckily we got chance to snap the breathtaking view from the mountain. And moving to the waterfall. But the guide brought us to the small waterfall because the route to the big waterfall is way challenging. Oh myyy second dissapointment T____T

The brathtaking view from the Santubong

Muka-muka kecewa

After half an hour having our lunch, taking pictures and rendam kaki, we were going down the mountain. Oh, there was no rafflesia at that time, maybe its not the season I guess.

How they did this?
Conclusion is there are so many thing yang belum explore. Next semester kena pergi lagi!! Paperwork pleasee!

Till next week, thanks:)

Dinner Group 5

Salam Alaik.

I'm on holiday now. Jyeahh! Semester break for 2 and half months. What am I going to do? Kak Mut's word flashing in my mind. " Berbakti kepada ibubapa pulak cuti ni". Ehehehe kak mut kak mut.
I planned what I want to do during this break since last study week. Semangat uols!

Actually this entry I'm gonna write about dinner of my group which is Group 5. This group members were selected randomly by my lecturer for Aquatic Instrumentation and Methodology 2 subject. This subject need a lot of outdoor activity since the instruments used has to be tested at the field. The real situation. So most of the theory classes were held at the lab. Since there were a lot of instrument to study, so we were divided into a few groups and Alhamdulillah I got a very nice group members.

During the last midterm break, I went to a field trip like I wrote in this entry . After few weeks, my group members and I decided to go out. Have some makan-makan. We went to Barok Restaurant near the waterfront but Syira was MIA. ehehe.

Few weeks before study week, we went to dine again. This time at the Top Spot. A-must-go-place if you are in Kuching. They serve variety of seafood from common seafood to seafood you never see and eat before. You can choose the seafood by your own and request masak pedas, sweet sour, grilled etc. The prices depend on how much you take. Kalau ambik banyak mahal la kan. The food okay lah not bad, sedap jugak. I give 3/5 stars.

Groupmates :)

After eating, we went to the waterfront, wandering around. Observing what the Sarawakian doing at night. Since it wasn't weekend, not much people there. Last outing, we went out during weekend, along the pedestrian walk, there's a lot of street entertainers. Agak meriah la weekend dorang. At least their teens has some beneficial xtvt to do kan?

Story of 'SUGAR'!

Salam Alaik :)

I love cakes, I love ice creams, I love chocolates, I love sweets, I love doughnuts I love sweet thingy but I don't like bicarbonate drinks :P

see..debab kan?

How la not getting fat? semangkuk ekrem tu lahap sensorang ja

I love baking cakes. This is my hobby since I was 16. I started with oreo cheese cake because it was easy-measy recipe :) Sometimes I don't eat the cakes that I baked but I love seeing people eat it. It such a blessed moments you know :) When I was in PASUM, I never care what food did I consume. How much calories in the food and so on. McDelivery almost every weekend is a MUST. haha..macam mana tak gemuk? and yes I was getting fat day by day. Whenever I'm out, I will take away unhealthy food such as KFC, Popeye and Big Apple doughnuts. but everything has changed since my sister's solemnization last December.

early PASUM, still can fit the kebaya..
now no longer fit :'(
Here is the story, the day before my sister's day, Rukun Tetangga area my house held a charity campaign. buat makan-makan, health-check such as blood sugar level, blood pressure and so on. That morning I ate a cupcake for my breakfast ( soo unhealthy, haha), then my mum asked me to check all of them. Before that I told the MA I took my breakfast already..and yes, he still proceed the checking..so here is the result

8.3 ( I'm not sure the unit, hehe)

Quite high is it? I t wasn't normal for my age and I was like

me: whattt? what's happening to me? Am I have diabetic mellitus??? (suara tersekat-sekat, sign of crying)

What do you feel if you were on my foot. At age of 20 your blood sugar level is 8.3. My dad's was 7.4..which means mine was way higher compare to his. Since that day, I felt uneasy, I felt something was wrong with my body..I took less sugary-food which was my favourite before. My mum told maybe there was hikmah this hard thing happened to me. I was uncontrolled and the day after, she asked me to do the checking again at the hospital but I refused. I was afraid of the result. But I still baked meringue cookies before flying back to Unimas:p
Some of sugary-food I used to bake..
looks so deli isn't?so,  how come la I resist this food???
During this early second semester, I didn't take any sugary food and drinks such as cakes, ice cream and any flavouring drinks eventhough there's still sugar in my meals..sugar yang tersembunyi tu nak buat cemano kan? takkan tak nak makan langsung kot. It lasts few weeks and I decided to check the sugar level again at Unimas Clinic..Alhamdulillah, the result made me relief..its 5.3 if I'm not mistaken..lupa sudah, haha

Ever since, I controlled my food intake, how many spoons of sugar a day should I take (including the hidden sugar), how many glass of mineral water should I consume a day, how much calories should I burn in a week, doing exercise 2-3times a week and so on. So far, Alhamdulillah, I can follow the food pyramid suggested. Last semester I didn't jog because I don't have partner to jog with but this semester, Alhamdulillah I have a friend who are willing to accompany me to jog every saturday or sunday.

latest photo of mine :D

So, my point is, everything happens for a reason. It is depends on us to seek the reason or not, to improve ourself from the mistakes or not.

till then. thank you

First Field Trip

Salam Alaik.

Last few days, I went to Pandan Beach, Kuala Lundu for sampling. Yeah, I was informed earlier by my lecturer that there is no mid-sem break this semester. We have a field trip to go to. I didn't complained because I know there are more and more field trips after this as me, an aquatic student, we need to sample any organisms at the coastal area, estuaries or any related to it, so field trip is compulsory to me. Who knows one day jumpa organism baru, then letak nama fifious sp., kan kurlass tu..HAHA

in front of frst building

high-tide..can you see the rocks nun jauh di sana?hehe..
then compare how far is theintertidal area with picture below
(I tried to rotate but failed, haha, nvm, just wanted to show the tides)

low tide..can you see the rocks???

During the 3days and 2nights trip, a learnt so many things. I learnt how to work with people you don't really know, orang yang banyak cekadak, people who 'loes' to complain..everything..hmm, since this is my first field trip, so, a bit surprised with situation and environment. About what suppose to do exactly, how to do it..kalau banyak tanya nanti kang kena bebel, kena marah, HAHA.. that's what we called EXPERIENCE..

On the first day, my group and I (and also other groups) did water quality sample and ichthyoplankton (kinda fish larvae). During water quality task, Dr. Ruhana asked us how to measure temperature in the water? what is instrument used? some answer thermometer...that was wrong answer actually and she asked us to lay down in the seawater till we got the right answer..haha.sape yang letak handphone dalam poket memang naseb larr.. (btw the answer is DO meter, thermometer pon betul but since there was no thermometer there, so salah lah jawapan tu).  During ichthyoplankton sampling, we just used the siene net and got the sample, preserved and analyse in the lab..before I forgot, it was high tide.

my group, group 5..thanks korang ;)

crab's family

At night, we did crabbing. Alhamdulillah, there were 3 crabs (happy family crab, male, female and baby crab) trapped in our trap. We went back to our camp site to do the measuring, photoshoot and preserved. Then the baby crab was released at the coastal area again. Dr Siti said, nanti populasi dorang kurang, so better lepaskan untuk dia membiak. That night, it was low-tide. It was about 2-2.5 meter range water between high tide, can you imagine how far the gigi air compared to high-tide? sangaaaaat jauh..with the stars shined in the sky, Haziq asked us to switch off our torchlight and take time to release our stress, our tiredness..it was very calm and I saw bertapa lapangnya bumi Allah ni..Subhanallah! very beautiful.

with qira le bff (big fat friend)haha, jk

qira and syira

<3

On the next day, we did other sampling on benthos and etc. For me, instead of I gaining something in Dunya, we need to think about the life after. Balance both. Alhamdulillah, Thank you Allah for sending Haziq, to open our eyes and minds to be more thankful. (Haziq is one of aquatic student who has a lot of experience and knowledge, he involves in dakwah and tarbiyah too)

Swimming Class

Salam Alaik

Since I was a kid, I was dreaming to be  a good swimmer. Unfortunately, it doesn't came true because I can't float myself in the water. I thought maybe I was too heavy, that's why my body buoyancy was too low. Haha

Last two weeks, my friend asked me whether I wanted to join swimming class or not. I did 'think twice' and I told her a big YES. why shouldn't I right? so, I grabbed the golden opportunity. oh, not forgotten, the fee is soooo cheap (because the class is organised by my lecturer). Since I'm taking Aquatic Science course, so swimming ability is such a bonus for this me.

Then, I bought a complete set of muslimah swimming suit and things needed for swimming. The class has 10 sessions on every Wednesday. I t consist of 30 students only. Exclusive ain't? Haha. Its the objective of the organization, they wanted all the participated student able to swim at the end of the sessions.  My senior said, by 8th session, usually student will able to swim with all the styles such as butterfly, kuak lentang and so on. I can't remember the other 2 styles, hehe. Alhamdulillah the 1st lesson on last Wednesday went smoothly. I learn how to control breathing, floating and kicking. And I'm lucky for having kak Bella as my instructor :)

Yesterday, my friends and I went to Stampark waterpark. This time we learnt to swim without an instructor so the pool is OURS, haha.

Who says we can't make our childhood dream come true. I'm a step closer to it, do pray for my success so taht one day I can be an awesome swimmer, inshaAllah. Let's Brew!!

Happy Sunday

Salam Alaik

I just started my second semester. it's  not 'just' actually, it's already 3 weeks lectures and classes. A bit busy lately, all the lab reports, logbook, tutorials need to be done by this week.

Omo, so many things to do and I don't even have time for my self. But today, finally, I have some me-time. And I'm not gonna waste it just like that. Hehe

Today, I did laundry, cleaning the bathroom, putting mask on my face (now) and eye patches, manicure and pedicure. Feel so relieve and soooo heaven. I wish everyday is Sunday. Haha
